Tucked Away

The beauty of Orleans and Pleasant Bay is no secret. However, down a long and dusty road you can find yet another surprising and stunning private location. The existing home, nestled on top of a bluff overlooking Little Pleasant Bay and the back side of Nauset Beach showed a lot of promise. Due to the solid structure and thoughtful location of the home it was a perfect candidate for a full renovationrather than a tear down. SV Design was tasked with bringing this out dated home to modern living and design standards. Subtle Additions of decks, a covered front entrance, and some modifications to the exterior trim had a dramatic impact on the home’s exterior. The windows were significantly increased on the water facing elevation to take advantage of the stunning views. The layout of the home was kept largely intact as it already had an open concept. Custom moldings and cabinetry were designed collaboratively between Spencer and Company and SV’s Interior Design division. The result was a home that reads as lovely blend of coastal and traditional aesthetic. The property boastsa diverse range of gathering areasperfectly suited for taking advantage of the seasonal beauty. A screened in porch, amahoganydeck with a fire table, a patio situated under bistro lighting, and an elevated wood deck adjacent to the pool. The same can be said for the interior of the home, with custom window seats and day beds to takeinthe views. Special consideration was also taken into account for thefamily pet, Beau, who sleeps in acustom builtkennelintegrated into the pantry cabinetry.

“Let us start by saying we could not be more thrilled with how our project turned out! Spencer & Company is undoubtedly one of the primary reasons why.

We were in Florida for much of the design phase and all of the renovation due to Covid. But through bi-weekly Zoom calls, document and photo share the process was surprisingly smooth and without any major surprises.

Ted and Matt are professional and completely trustworthy. They listened carefully to what we wanted but also shared their insight and perspective in a productive manner. And their whole team is super talented! The quality of workmanship is apparent everywhere you look.

We spent a little more than expected. But much of that is due to changes we made to the original design along the way.

We highly recommend Spencer and Company. And like us you may even become friends before your project is finished!”
